  GARDEN TIP

Happy Spring (where was winter?)

While your spending more time indoors, consider re-potting your houseplants and cleaning up the foliage.

This is also a good time to start thinking about your plans for your outdoor gardens. Take advantage of low to no snow coverage and stroll around your gardens and start thinking about what changes you want to make this spring.

  PLANT SPOTLIGHT

Pansy, Violax x spp

Pansies are a flower typically seen in early summer/late spring.  The flower is two to three inches in diameter and is available in a wide range of colors and bicolors. The plant can reach 9” tall and prefers sun or partial sun.

Historically, the pansy has attracted the attention of poets and artists including William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, Pierre-Joseph Redouté, and Georgia O'Keeffe. The flower is a recurring motif in cultural artifacts such as embroidery designs and greeting cards.
